The new, and light, LS2 Vector II Carbon helmet has just become available to buy in 2023, and with prices starting from £259.99 it’s an affordable way to enjoy modern safety and aerodynamics.
Using 100% high-grade wide weave carbon fibre, you get a weight of around 1350g, compared to approximately 1500g for the fibreglass composite Vector II range launched in 2022. And it’s actually £10 cheaper than the carbon version from the original Vector line-up, which is quite surprising.
Certified to the latest ECE 22.06 safety standards, it’s designed for stability at speed, which should reduce neck ache combined with the light weight . And the long-oval shell is manufactured in six sizes, to help reduce unnecessary drag and give you the best fit.
The wide visor aperture should help your peripheral vision, with a quick release system for the visor, which is UV, scratch and fog resistant, tear-off ready, and comes with a Pinlock Max Vision system as standard. There’s also a flip down internal sun visor, and a breath deflector to help you see clearly in all conditions.
You get vents on the chin and forehead with an exhaust port at the rear, with channels through the EPS liner, and a breathabler, removable and hypoallergenic lining, which can be removed and washed, along with a chin curtain supplied as standard. Fastening is via a micrometric steel buckle, and common to pretty much all LS2 lids is the emergency release system allowing the cheek pads to be removed with the least disruption to your head and neck.
The LS2 Vector II Carbon Helmet is available in sizes 2XS-4XL, with prices starting at £259.99 for the plain carbon design, and £289.99 for the Flux and Strong graphics which still highlight a bit of the carbon weave, but add some colour.
