If you’re looking for a relatively affordable option for road riding and touring, then it’s worth noting that the new LS2 Vector II helmet replaces the previous Evo model in the firm’s range.
The Vector has been around for a few years now, having first appeared on here in 2018. And for 2022, it gets a complete redesign, with a new High Performance Fibreglass Composite (HPFC) shell available in an impressive six outer sizes. LS2 is the first company to offer this many options to suit the XS-3XL range, meaning you’ll get the maximum benefit from the aerodynamic design. Which means more stability for your head, and less wind noise.

The new LS2 Vector II helmet is also a little lighter, at around 1500 grams, with a carbon fibre option on the way (Update: It’s been released in July 2023). There’s dynamic flow-through ventilation thanks to the adjustable intakes, and the Magna-Tech liner is removable and washable. And given the range of shell sizes and laser-cut foam inserts, you should retain a good fit for quit a while.
The visor features a ‘one-click’ quick release with a new ratchet system, and it’s Pinlock-ready with a flip-down sun visor behind it. Along with tha chin curtain to keep out the weather, there’s a neck roll, reinforced quick-release chin strap and emergency release cheek pads to reduce the risk of further injury following a crash.

The new LS2 Vector II helmet is available in sizes XS-3XL in a choice of solid colours costing £179.99 (White, Matt Titanium, Matt Black or Nardo Grey), or a range of designs for £199.99. And along with a new lid, you also geta bag, Pinlock insert, reflective stickers and an air bag support all included, which is nice.
It seems that LS2 are refreshing a lot of their range at the moment, with the fliip-front Advant recently replacing the Valiant.
