Whatever else is going on in the world, it seems that Italian motorcycles are in more demand than ever, as Ducati achieves record sales so far in 2023.

In the first six months of the year, the Italian manufacturer has delivered 34,976, which is the best ever figure, and up five per cent on the same period in 2022, which ended up as a record year itself. And the sales are topped by the Multistrada V4 range, with 6,382 models shipped between January and June.

The Ducati Monster continues to be popular, with 4,299 motorcycles delivered, and the Scramber 800 comes in third with 3,581 bikes. The Monster is particularly notable, having been originally introduced in 1993, and remaining one of the top selling models ever since.

Italy remains the top destination for new Ducati motorcycles, growing 10 per cent on 2022 with 6,639 new bikes ending up with Italian owners. The United States is the second largest country for sales, with 4,505 bikes and 11 per cent growth, and Germany is in third place, with 13 per cent growth to 4,217 sales.

Francesco Milicia, Ducati VP Global Sales and After Sales:  “This first half-year was Ducati’s best ever in terms of deliveries. We reached a record 34,976 bikes delivered, proving that our passionate clients continue to appreciate our product range, which is now wider than ever. The supply bottlenecks experienced last year are now over but the global competition in the market is more intense in the post Covid-era also because of better product availability. Our commitment to reinforce the satisfaction of our Ducatisti is stronger than ever and their continuous trust gives all people in Borgo Panigale an extra motivation.”

Keep up with all the latest new, custom and classic Ducati motorcycles, here. And if you can’t quite stretch to a brand new model, you can find plenty of secondhand examples on eBay right now.
