This great pic, taken by Graham Etheridge, shows Barry Sheene during the early part of 1976, signing autographs for kids and Mums with handbags! To all, Barry had a certain kind of appeal and he went on to win the first of his two 500cc GP World titles later.
Yes for sure…young Barry was THE hot and up and coming racer in the seventies. Let’s not forget that Bultaco that he raced before jumping on that Suzuki. I have pictures I took of him when I was sixteen or seventeen taken in some paddock back then sitting in the back of a Ford Transit van. Those surely were the days before the big time..
