Third Gen LS2 Rapid Helmet Offers Cost-Effective Protection

With an update for 2026, the third gen LS2 Rapid helmet offers cost-effective protection at a cost from just £59.99 in solid colours.

That’s great news if you need a cheap spare or back-up option, want a helmet for an occasional pillion, or are on a very tight budget. It’s not designed to compete with high end race replica helmets, but will do the job for a reasonable price.

Like most lower priced helmets, the LS2 Rapid has a thermoplastic shell with a design for sports and touring, including an aerodynamic rear wing. It’s certified to ECE 22.06, and one nice touch is that there are three outer shell sizes covering the range of fitments. Which helps safety, as you’re not just getting a load of extra padding if you have a smaller head, or a lot less cushioning for a larger cranium.

You get a micrometric buckle for the chin strap, which is reinforced and has a metal security plate. For ventilation there’s top and chin vents, exhaust ports at the rear, and the LS2 Dynamic Flow-Through system channelling the air through the EPS foam layer.

Another nice feature for such a budget helmet is that the hypoallergnic and antibacterial liner is fully removable and washable, with an extra comfort liner and chin curtain. The visor now has a double-injection rubber seal for better protection and less noice, it’s Pinlock 70 MaxVision insert ready, scratch and UV resistant, and uses the LS2 Quick Release System.

Which all adds up to a pretty impressive helmet avalable in sizes XS-3XL at just £59.99 for solid colours, and £69.99 in a wide range of 11 graphic options.
