Lots of new and traditional motorcycle manufacturers are already building electric motorcycles, but now the first full-size electric Honda WN7 motorcycle will launch in 2026.
Considering the company founded by Soichiro Honda has been the largest motorcycle maker since 1959, and reached 500 million bikes earlier this year, along with the biggest manufacturer of internal combustion engines, it’s a notable change from a brand which includes the most produced vehicle in history, the Honda Super Cub.
First shown as the EV FUN Concept at EICMA 2024, the Honda WN7 promises more than 130km of range from a fixed lithium-ion battery. Power will be 18kW, similar to a 600cc petrol engine, but with 100Nm torque which is closer to a 1000cc bike. And it will also be available as an 11kW A1 licence version.
It should be fairly manageable, with a kerb weight of 217kg. That’s a bit heavier than current bikes like the 2025 CB750 Hornet (192kg) and the CB1000 SP at 212kg, but it depends where the centre of gravity will be. It’s also a bit pricier at £12,999, compared to £10,099 for the 1000cc Hornet, but you’ll obviously save on petrol.
Helping with range anxiety, there are flexible charging options, with automotive-grade CCS2 rapid charing meaning a 20-80% rapid top-up should be possible in 30 minutes, and a 6kVA wall box home charger reaching 100% in under 3 hours.
The full specs will be revealed at EICMA 2025, but it will include a five-inch TFT screen with RoadSync connectivity, and LED lights front and rear. You can pre-order one now with production starting in late 2025, and the first bikes in dealers early in 2026, at a cost of £12,999. But if you put in an order before November 4th, 2025, you do get a complimentary seat bag.
