If you’re looking for an affordable middleweight dual sports motorcycle, the new Voge DS625X has arrived in UK dealers at a price of £5,999 on the road.
The Voge brand is part of Loncin, a Chinese company which produces more than 2.5 million bikes each year, making parts and complete motorcycles for brands including Honda, MV Agusta and BMW Motorrad. They’ve been around for a few years with their own range from 125cc bikes and scooters up to the new Voge DS625X, which features the third incarnation of their Euro5+ parallel twin engine, and switches from a 180 to a 270 degree firing order for better acceleration.
The 581cc engine also gets reduced warm-up time and emissions thanks to a new oil-water exchanger, which also improves the fuel efficiency. The slipper clutch has also been improved with bigger friction plates, softer level action, and less chatter from the rear wheel when you’re shifting down the gears quickly.
Compared to the slightly smaller Voge DS525X which launched in 2023, the double cradle steel chassis has wide footrests which are now 55mm further forwards for better riding comfort. And new fully-adustable KYB suspension increased the suspension travel, offers better damping and increases the ground clearance up to 220m. The rear shock also gets an external reservoir and more oil capacity to cope with hotter weather and more challenging terrain.
The new Voge DS625X comes with rider aids including ECO and Sport modes, ABS, a built-in 1080p forward facing camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system for the supplied Metzeler Tourance tyres, a colour 7″ TFT dash,and both a 12v socket and USB charger. But it also comes with engine bars, hand protectors, a sump guard,and a radiator guard as standard, with an official three-part hard luggage system of side cases and a top box costing an extra £699.
Performance is claimed to be 63hp (at 9,000rpm) and 57 Nm of torque (at 6,500rpm), with a wet weight of 206kgs, and a 835mm seat height. The fuel tank has a 17.6 litre capacity, and colour choices are Desert Yellow or Black Night.
At £5999 with a two year warranty, it’s cheaper than the previous 650DSX, and competively priced between the smaller A2 licence DS525X (£5499), and other models built in China including the Benelli TRK 502 or the CFMoto 700MT. Your best bet is to visit one of the many UK dealers and try it out for yourself.
