It’s easy to overlook the humble rucksack in your riding kit, until you’ve ended up with backache or soggy luggage. But there’s a versatile new option with the Pyramid Waterproof 35 Litre Motorcycle Backpack now available.
You can use it on your back, or as a tail pack with the supplied four mounting straps. It’s made from 500D PVC with a seamless, heat-sealed design so it will be 100% waterproof. Plus it’s also temperature resistant from +70°C to -30°C so the durable material should crack or face. It’s also easy to clean.
The backpack features a roll-top design to make it watertight when closed, and get stuff in and out more easily. When it’s packed up, you can use an integrated air-release valve to compress everything, which is a nice touch and means things won’t move about or add extra bulk to your bike. There’s an exterior pocket with a waterproof zip, along with a bottle pocket and a bungee storage net if the internal space isn’t quite enough sometimes.
When you’re not riding, you might appreciate the padded shoulder straps, carry handle and helmet net. And for riding and walking, there’s also a chest support strap to help distribute any weight and add stability to prevent things moving around as you shift position on your bike. It also has a reflective patch to help visibility in low light.
I’ve used a variety of backpacks and rucksacks over the year, from hiking euipment to dedicated motorcycle luggage, and it definitely makes a big difference to your comfort and manoeuvrability when riding. And it’s always good to know your luggage will be fine if there’s the occasional bit of rain on your trip. Being able to use it as a tailpack is also a great option to save on buying both luggage options.
The Pyramid Wateproof 35 Litre Motorcycle Backpack costs £49.99, and you can order it from the Pyramid website. Check out all the motorcycle luggage options we’ve covered, including a variety of backpacks from various manufacturers, all designed specifically for motorcyclists.
