I’ve always enjoyed the comfort and conveniences of short-cuff motorcycle gloves, especially if I’m just nipping out in warmer weather and want to use them with various bike jackets. And the new short-cuff Weise Sprint Gloves still offer plenty of protection.
I don’t know what the trade-off is compared to the coverage of longer race gloves, but with everything else on the Sprint gloves being equal, it’s probably not a concern for commuting, urban riding, or casual trips out. The only time I’d probably choose something else would be for a track day, or on cold and wet days.
They’re made from premium full-grain leather with a low profile adjustable cuff closure, so it will fit nicely under the sleeves of your jacket. The critical areas for use or at risk in an accident get dual-layered leather reinforcement, and there is integrated TPU knuckle and scaphoid armour, along with finger protectors, all allowing the gloves to be EN13594:2015 Level 1KP certified.
For comfort, the finger protection is vented, which is handy for warmer days, there are padded sections on the palm, wrist, fingers and cuff, and you get accordion stretch panels to ensure you can move your hands around without any issues. The index fingers and thumgs are also touchscreen compatible if you need to use your phone or GPS. Plus there are 3M Scotchlite reflective panels to help you be seen by other road users.
The new short-cuff Weise Sprint Gloves come with a two-year warranty and are available in sizes S-3XL. They cost £129.99 and you can choose from plain Black or Black/White.
You can find it at your local Weise retailer, which includes Halfords. And they aren’t the right choice for you, why not check out all the motorcycle gloves we’ve featured, including others from the Weise range.
