It seems like every manufacturer is offering carbon helmets these days, and the new LS2 Dragon Carbon motorcycle helmet is one of the latest to appear on the market. The good news is that at £349.99 for the plain finish, and £379.99 for the graphic options, it’s relatively affordable.
The three outer shell sizes mean you get the smallest and lightest option across XXS to XXXL fitments, and it’s made from high grade 6k twill weave carbon fibre. So you get the high-tech look, and a high level of penetration resistance without a lot of weight. And the carbon is also used for various components including the chin, forehead and rear exhaust vents, so you don’t end up with plastic ruining the look.
The features that might not be so obvious include the 3D optically correct A-class polycarbonate visor and wide aperture, which can be quickly and easily swapped out via the quick release mechanism. You also get a Pinlock 120 MaxVision Anti Fog System as standard, along with a breath guard, and the drop-down internal sun visor.
Inside you get the X-Static Silver fabric liner, so it’s antimicrobial, anti-odour, removable and washable, it’s ready for the LS2 intercom system, and the multi-density EPS liner has the typical air channels to help keep you cool. One thing worth noting is that it has a double D-ring fastener along with an emergency release system, which I still prefer over a seat-belt style buckle for safety and security.
The new LS2 Dragon carbon motorcycle helmet is ECE 22.06 certified for road use, and comes in sizes XXS to XXXL in Solid Matt and Forged Gloss finishes for £349.99, and the Enthum or three Trax graphic designs for £379.99.
You can order LS2 helmets online from GhostBikes (or RevZilla in the U.S), including some good discounts and deals. If you’re looking for a new motorcycle helmet, why not check out our other Helmet news and articles, or our previous coverage of the LS2 range?
