If you plan on combining off-road motorcycling with cross-country rides and touring, and need something to cover all eventualities, the new premium HJC RPHA 60 dual sports helmet might be a suitable choice.
New for 2025, it uses the HJC Premium Integrated matrix (PIM) construction for the shell to be both strong and lightweight, infused with epoxy resin and fibre tissue, and it has an aerodynamic shape, including the peak visor, for when you’re riding at higher speeds. Which is incredibly handy if you’re touring or riding between trails. You’re also able to remove the peak without any tools, if you prefer.
To keep you cool there are three intakes and four exhaust ports at the rear to let air flow through the Avdanced Channelling Ventilation System, which is important when it’s hot or you’ve built up a bit of a sweat riding off-road. It’s warm work avoiding ruts and hedges.
There’s an integrated internal anti-fog coated sun visor with a new system to lock it into three different positions, along with the main Pinlock ready HJ-47 visor, which offers 99% UV protection and an anti-scratch coating, and the RPHA 60 is also supplied with both a Pinlock 120 clear and light smoke visor.
Inside, there’s a handy glasses groove for those needing or choosing eyewear under their helmet, and removable and washable crown and cheek pads, which use an anti-bacterial gabric, along with interchangeable 3D contour cheek pads for a perfect fit.
The helmet is ECE R22.06 approved for road use, and featured a double-d ring fasteneing, along with an emergency pull tab for quick removal in an emergency. It’s also compatible with the 2nd Gen Smart HJC bluetooth systems, sold separately.
