The new Omega Air 1.0 short motorcycle boots are designed for summer riding and warm weather, but still offer sportsbike style and CE level 2 protection for safety.
Shorter-length boots are a popular choice for comfort during short trips, commuting, and in high temperatures. A low profile opening means they’ll fit nicely with pretty much any type of motorcycle jeans or trousers. You also get perforated ventilation panels to keep your feet nice and cool, and a 3D mesh lining.
Coming up to your lower calf, there’s rubber sole and gear shift pad as you might expect. Protection includes the PE reinforced toe and heel counter, footbed shank and ankle protectors, with TPU heel protection on the outside, along with removable toe sliders.
Fastening is with a YKK zipper featuring a hook and loop cover fastening system, and the Oxford Omega Air 1.0 boots also have accordion stretch zones at the front and rear.
The design is fairly subtle, with the option of White, Red or Yellow trim, and they’re definitely sports motorcycle boots. But the short length should mean they’re a bit more comfortable if you’re walking around for a bit at the local bike meet. And I’m always a fan of designs that makes protective kit quicker and easier to use, because a lot of us can be tempted into being lazy or ditching our gear in hot weather, especially if we’re only making a quick trip out. After falling off more at low speeds than when I’ve been pushing it (including two times at a standstill on hills), you can do a surprising amount of damage to yourself at 30mph or under.
