New Keis J601RP UltraFlex Heated Jacket For Winter Riding

New Keis J601RP UltraFlex Heated Jacket For Winter Riding

November 28, 2023 By DanThornton Leave a Comment

There are some potential benefits to riding through cold weather, but it’s important to stay warm for your safety as well as comfort. It’s hard to concentrate when you’re shivering, so even if you’re using an old winter hack for commuting, something like the new Keis J601RP UltraFlex heated jacket can be a worthwile investment.

The UltraFlex material has been developed by Keis from 85% Chinlon and 15% Spandex to create a mid-layer which is flexible, comfortable, and not too bulky. And as a bonus, Chinlon also wicks away moisture, which is handy. Plus it’s soft, and combined with the stretchy Spandex, you get a snug fit to make the most of the heating without hampering your movement on the bike, or any uncomfortable rubbing and chafing.

Heating is handled by micro carbon fibre panels to keep weight down and ensure it’s slim enough to fit comfortably. They’re on the front, back and sleeves, with additional sections in the collar also help to keep your neck warm, considering there’s normally a gap between your jacket and crash helmet. The panels are even washable, so you can stay fresh.

You get 65W of heating power with a 5.4A draw current from the battery of your motorcycle or scooter. Alternatively there’s an optional Cigarette Lighter/DIN power supply lead also available, and you can set your preferences with a Keis Heavy Duty Controller usually costing £38, but free with the J601RP for a limited time.

The new Keis J601RP UltraFlex Heated Jacket costs £220, and is available in unisex sizes 2XS-3XL. It comes with a two-year warranty, but the heating elements are covered by a lifetime warranty.

You can find all our coverage of motorcycling clothing, here, including a whole host of Keis heated clothing.
