Life gets a little easier for new, and current owners, as the Ducati Multistrada V4 S gets the electronic Easy Lift system first introduced with the Rally model to make it easier to get on and off the bike, and to lift it from the side stand.
It’s not only included as standard equipment on new Multistrada V4 S models going forwards, but existing owners will be contacted through email or the MyDucati App to visit a Ducati dealer and have it installed for free via a software update. This will start from the EU countries before America, Australia, Japan and APAC countries.
The Easy Lift system makes life a little easier in two ways. The first is that it opens the valves on the semi-active suspension units for three minutes when you turn on the ignition. This softens the front and rear suspension, to amke it easier to lift your Multistrada V4 S or Rally from the side stand and get it upright.
And it also includes a Minimum Preload function, which resets the shock absorber, and lowers the bike. Which is useful at low speeds, especially if you’ve got a pillion on the back, as you can get your feet safely on the ground.
As someone who has sometimes struggled to adapt to riding taller bikes, this kind of system makes a big difference compared to having to slide into a side saddle position every time I come to a traffic light. Especially if you’re loaded up with luggage and a passenger on the back.
