Coming in at a penny under £200, the new Weise Condor jacket offers a fairly stylish retro design with modern materials and safety features for motorcycling in all conditions.
It features a soft brushed cotton outer shell, which still meets the AA rating for protection. But the design, quilted shoulder details and vintage fasteners look suitably classic, and should suit anyone wanting something that looks a bit retro without paying a ridiculous amount for the priviledge or relying on decades-old clothing in an accident.
Which means you get CE-approved shoulder, elbow and back armour. And you also get modern weather protection and comfort, with a waterproof, windproof and breathable membrane, plus a removable 75 gsm quileted vest liner, zippable vents, and a Neoprene collar.
There are two hand-warmer pockets, plus two on the upper chest, one on the arm left arm, and two on the inside. And you get waist, cuff and collar adjsutments to get the right fit and prevent billowing in the wind.
Weise kit tends to last for ages, in my personal experience. The downside in the past was that it wasn’t always particularly stylish, but that seems to have definitely turned around in recent years. And the Weise Condor has some echoes of classic MA-1 flight jackets and similar military or classic clothing, particularly with the upper arm pocket. So it should be alright for hanging round at the pub or wandering through town, as well as when you’re out riding.
The Weise Condor jacket is available in men’s sizes S-5XL in a choice of Navy or Black, and costs £199.99. You can find it at your local Weise stockist, which actually includes Halfords. And if it’s not the right choice for you, why not check out all our coverage of motorcycle jackets, including the Weise range.
