Cut down on the need to buy and own multiple motorcycle helmets with the new LS2 Drifter, which offers you the choice of a full-face motocross style, a trials option with just the peak, or a normal open face hlemt with the peak and chin guard both removed.
And priced from £99.99, you’re not paying a lot for the three-in one versatility. Especially as the ECE 22.06 approved Drifter also comes with an integral drop down visor as well. Perfect if you like to ride to enduro trails or somewhere to practise your trials riding, as you can use the peak and chin bar to deal with wind and rain on the road, and then take them off when you’ve reached your destination, or the weather might have improved.
It’s particular impressive considering previous helmets from LS2 based on a similar idea were almost two or three times more expensive, such as the Metro Evo and Valiant. So you’re actually getting more options for less money in 2023.
Modular helmets with removable peaks and chin bars aren’t a new idea, but it’s a little surprising how much LS2 have packed into the affordable price. It uses their Kinetic Polymer Alloy (KPA) shell in two outer sizes for a good fit, and weighs in at just 1300g. And you also get a removable and washable hypoallergenic lining, top and rear vents to allow air to cool you when the chin bar and visor are in use, and it even comes with a swappable tinted visor to deal with bright sunshine.
It’s fastened by a micrometric ‘seatbelt’ style buckle, which is expected at this price point. But it’s hard to imagine finding more for your money, given that you’re getting the equivalent of three helmets for under £100. Especially if you have an off-road or trials bike for some gentle weekend adventures, or find a full-face lid is a pain on an adventure or dual-sports bike.
