Valentino Rossi: All His Races Releases on January 13th, 2022

If you’re a fan of motorcycle racing, then it’s likely you’ll want a copy of the new book by Mat Oxley when Valentino Rossi: All His Races releases on January 13th, 2022.

Since making his 125cc Grand Prix debut in 1996, The Doctor has gone on to become of the greatest motorcyle racers of all time, claiming nine GP world championships, including seven in the top 500cc and MotoGP class. After winning back-to-back titles with Honda, he then continued his victorious streak with Yamaha. His retirement in 2021 came after more than 400 Grand Prix, and with 115 Grand Prix wins, he’s second only to Giacomo Agostini in the all-time list. Amazingly, his last MotoGP victory came 20 years and 311 days after his first 125cc success, which is the longest gap in the history of the sport.

And if there’s someone who can do justice to such an epic career, then it’s Mat Oxley, who is not only a great writer, but also a former Isle of Man TT winner, lap record holder, and endurance racer. And he’s also previously written the first biography of Valentino Rossi, MotoGenius (which I’ve read and re-read several times over the years). I also highly recommend The Fast Stuff, as a brilliant look at what goes on inside the heads of the world’s fastest motorcycle racers, and recently bought Stealing Speed and SPEED: The One Genuinely Modern Pleasure as a present for a family member, (and now need to buy them for myself).

“It’s been a joy watching Valentino’s GP career from the very beginning in 1996 and I’ve really enjoyed reliving so many of his great moments through writing this book,” says Mat. “In fact I started with his first international campaign in 1995, dissecting and analysing every one of his 400 plus races since then. So it’s basically a book which looks in detail at each and every race by one of the greatest ever motorcycle racers, written by one of the very best writers and journalists around. It’s written by Matt Oxley, published by Evro Publishing and the 280 x 235mm hardback edition contains 336 pages and 280 photos at a cost of £50 (although there’s currently a listing on Amazon at £40.89 with a January 27th release date).
