The new factory custom Ducati Unica program takes building your dream motorcycle to a new level with as you’ll be collaborating directly with the company to create something unique.
This means you’ll be able to collaborate directly with Ducati designers and technicians to go through every stage of the customisation process including exotic materials, special exclusive colours and finishes, and your choice of Ducati Performance accessories. After deciding on the specification at Centro Stile Ducati, you’ll then be able to come back regularly to see the progress of your bike being created. And each machine from the Ducati Unica program comes with a certificate of uniqueness.

Andrea Ferraresi, Centro Stile Ducati Director: “Design is a distinctive element of our creations. We wanted to give Ducatisti the chance to identify themselves even more with their own bike, making it a direct expression of each person’s individual style. Therefore, we created Ducati Unica, an exclusive program that testifies to the excellence of Made in Italy of which Ducati is a representative in the world. An exciting and unforgettable experience of customization to be experienced directly within our Centro Stile. The moment in which Ducatisti finally see their bike is very exciting for us at the Centro Stile and a source of great pride.”

An ‘extremely limited number of requests’ for the Ducati Unica project will be accepted next year, and the odds are it won’t be cheap. And your choices will need to be ‘in compliance with the stylistic criteria that identify a real Ducati’, so you probably won’t be allowed to choose particularly extreme examples of customisation. But along with the fact you’ll own something completely bespoke from the Bologna factory, it’s probably also going to be a more worthwhile investment than just adding some anodised levers and wheel rim tape.

You’ll be able to get more information on the Ducati Unica program from dealers worldwide, and there’s probably going to be plenty of interest in being able to visit Italy to work with the designers and technicians, and be involved with the manufacturer from the first sketches to the final delivery ceremony.
Given the fact that most motorcyclists will invest in tweaking and change their bikes to the way they want, it makes sense for Ducati to offer the option for a special service to those with the right combination of vision and money. And it’s probably not going to impact the demand for custom bike builders to create more extreme machines. But if it’s successful, you can imagine Ducati or other manufacturers expanding the options to create unique motorcycles direct from the production lines in the future, which will open up the possibilities.
