It’s been around for a while now, but the new colours for the LS2 Pioneer Evo helmet in 2022 may be interesting, particularly if you own an orange Austrian off-road or adventure sport bike. Given the popularity of KTM motorcycles, it’s not surprising that the new Adventurer design comes in either Matt Black and Orange, or Black and White with some orange detailing.

Aside from the new paint, there’s no other big differences from previous years. Developed with the motocross, enduro and supermoto riders which are supported by the company, you get the Kinetic Polymer Alloy (KPA) shell developed by LS2 to rival higher-end composite constructions. And three sizes of outer shell cover the range of eight fittings available. Replacement visors and peaks are available seperately in a range of colours.
The Pioneer Evo weighs around 1400g, and the quick-release visor is Pinlock-ready, with a second drop-down sun visor. Plus a breathable, hypoallergenic lining, ventilation, and the emergency release system to remove cheek pads and make it easier to take the helmet off with minimal head movement after an accident. It uses a micrometric, seat belt style buckle, with a reinforced chin strap and metal security plate.

The new Pioneer Evo Adventurer is ECE 22.05 certified for road use, like the rest of the range. And it’s available in sizes XXS-3XL for £129.99. The existing solid Matt Black option will save you a little at £110. So if you like LS2 helmets, and also own a KTM (or any other bike with some orange on it), then you have a new option if you like your lid to match your motorcycle.
You can order LS2 helmets online from GhostBikes (or RevZilla in the U.S), including some good discounts and deals. If you’re looking for a new motorcycle helmet, why not check out our other Helmet news and articles, or our previous coverage of the LS2 range?
