Watsonian Sidecars Now Fit The New Royal Enfield 350 Meteor

Thinking about buying the new 349cc classic cruiser? Well, you can make it even more versatile, as Watsonian Sidecars now fit the new Royal Enfield 350 Meteor.

As a motorcycle which produces 20bhp and tops out around 70mph, it’s a friendly bike to ride, especially with a price under £4,000 new. So if you’re a new or novice rider who likes the heritage of the Royal Enfield badge, and fancies a sidecar outfit that will be easy to handle, this could be the answer.

The fitting kit has four steel arms which attach to the tubular steel frame of the Meteor, which makes the connection strong and stable. The arms are powder-coated for durability, and heavy duty clamps and bolts are specifically designed and manufactured to ensure the sidecar outfit is securely attached.

Obviously, you’ll also need a sidecar. And the lightweight Watsonian Prescott is designed for smaller capacity motorcycles and scooters with a tubular steel chassis, hydraulic suspension and a fold-down screen on a bespoke aluminium casting, with luggage space behind the tilting seat.

Each Watsonian sidecar is built to order, and the development outfit pictured has been colour-matched to the bike, along with getting a Meteor front wheel. Prices for the Watsonian Prescott Sidecar start at £4,895 in a black gelcoat finish.

It may seem a little odd to pay more for a sidecar than your actual bike, but if you do trade up to a larger machine, obviously you’ll just need a different fitting kit to continue using the Prescott. So your initial investment could pay itself back over many, many years of motorcycle riding. And with a design dating back to 1946 and a fibreglass body, the classic style of the Prescott will fit a wide range of bikes (and can be fitted on either side depending on where you live or plan to ride).
