An experienced name joins the team as TAG Racing sign David Allingham for Superstock in 2022. The 26-year-old from Northern Ireland has previously competed in the British Superbike and Supersport classes, and will look to rebound from a tough season in 2021, which saw him finish in 22nd in the Pirelli National Supersock Championship.
He’ll be riding the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP in a squad which also includes Shaun Winfield in the Superstock class, and Luke Mossey in British Superbikes. He began testing with the team at Oulton Park in November to begin preparing for the coming season.
David Allingham: “I’m absolutely delighted to have signed a deal with the TAG Racing Honda team for the 2022 Pirelli National Superstock campaign, they are a fantastic and professional outfit and I’m really excited to get going.
“Last year was a tough season for me but I feel I showed glimpses of what I can do, I feel with the right package and a solid crew behind me I can be running up the front and challenging for race wins.
“I must say a massive thank you to Rob, Tracy and Gary for giving me this opportunity, it’s a massive chance for me and I can’t wait to give it my all and challenge at the front. I have to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported me and that continues to do so, bring on 2022.”
Team manager Gary Winfield: “We’re really pleased to welcome David to the team, he’s shown a lot of passion for our project and he’s focussed on producing a strong season. From our initial meetings he was very knowledgeable and was clearly ambitious, which matches our values.
“He’s ridden the bike already at Oulton Park and he impressed me with how he tackled the test, he took his time and built into what we asked from him, and most importantly he felt comfortable from the first laps.
“He’s had plenty of success in superbike, supersport and the National Superstock championships so we’re expecting a strong campaign from him. We also feel it will be good for Shaun to have a team mate, they’ll push each other on and that will be fantastic for both riders.”
