The daily miles are showing 6 to indicate the number of cylinders used for the inline 24-valve engine, with the odometer total on 1047 for the cubic capacity. So it should be pretty recognisable to other CBX1000 enthusiasts, who still love the 105bhp superbike produced from 1978 until 1982.
It’s not surprising that there are still fans of the big Honda. it was the first production road bike to use the firm’s six cylinder GP technology. Which meant a top speed of around 134-140mph, depending on the model, as the bike became a sports-tourer in 1981 with the CBX-B and a detuned 98hp engine. Alternatively a Moto Martin frame was available if you wanted to transplant the engine into a lighter and stiffer option, with a single rear monoshock mounted horizontally, Brembo brakes and a one-piece fibreglass tank, seat and tail section.
