Four New 2022 GASGAS Motocross Bikes Launched

Four New 2022 GASGAS Motocross Bikes Launched

There’s one downside about the four new 2022 GASGAS Motocross bikes launched this week, and it’s that one of the models is only available to American riders. But outside of the U.S, you’ll still be able to buy three of the new MX machines for some off-road fun.

The US-only model is the 2-stroke GASGAS EX 250 cross country motorcycle with electronic fuel injection, an 8.5 litre fuel tank and a lightweight frame for enduro riding.

Outside America, the new motocross bikes expand the MC range, starting with the GASGAS MC 85 17/14 small wheel for younger riders. It provides a step between the existing 65 and 125cc models, with a 2 stroke engine and six-speed gearbox. But don’t think you’ll miss out on technology, with WP suspension, wave disc brake disks and floating Formula calipers, and the a dry weight of 67kg.

For older two-stroke fans, the new GASGAS MC 250 houses the engine in a chromium molybdenum steel frame with an aluminium subframe, forged triple clamps and WP XACT suspension. The front gets 48mm forks, with a full adjustable rear shock offering 300mm of travel.

You also get a Brembo hydraulic clutch to shift through the five speed gearbox, built by PANKL Racing Systems. Before you fill the 7.5 litre tank, the GASGAS MC 250 should weight 95.5kg, with a 950mm seat height.

The last of the four new 2022 GASGAS motocross bikes launched this week is actually a four stroke. The MC 350F sits between the smaller 250cc and larger 450cc models, and aims to offer the agility of the former with the toque of the latter.

The chassis, subframe, suspension and other fittings are all pretty much identical to the two-stroke and four-stroke range. But the main difference is the 349cc engine, which puts out 58hp at 13,400 revs, and weighs just 27.2kg. Which means the MC350F can offer a 99.5kg dry weight, which isn’t far off the 250cc two-stroke.

The cylinder head features titanium valves and a tough Diamond Like Carbon coating, and high strength aluminium is used for the cylinders and 88mm bore pistons. You get a five-speed transmission with motocross specific ratios, and a Diaphragm Steel clutch, and the range feature cooling systems integrated into the frames to keep the profile slimmer for better handling.

So if you’re looking to start riding motocross in the near future, it could be worth checking out the GASGAS range. You can keep up with all the new GASGAS bikes for road and dirt, and any other coverage of the Spanish manufacturer, here. And if you can’t afford a new motorcycle, then why not check out the secondhand GASGAS bikes currently on offer via eBay?
