The Blaze saddlebags were launched as a convenient and light weight solution to carrying more luggage on a sports bike or naked motorcycle. And the new SW-Motech Pro Blaze panniers build on that with a more rigid construction and an attachment for more accessory bags to be added.
The concept is a simple one. Plenty of motorcycles don’t really suit large, hard case luggage, especially if you enjoy riding in a fairly ‘spirited’ manner. But that means you’re left wearing a large rucksack, which isn’t always particularly comfortable. Or using soft luggage, which can sometimes be a bit of a faff to fix and remove, depending on which options you choose.
So the SW-Motech Blaze and Pro Blaze luggage use a Quick-Lock rail system which mounts to the rear footrest hangars via clamps. So you can push in the rails and slide on the panniers before clipping them in place in seconds, and remove them just as quickly. And it should mean everything is kept stable and away from moving parts, even if you’re riding hard.
The standard Blaze luggage is made from basslistic nylon, but the Pro Blaze saddlebags get EVA plastic sidewalls to increase the rigidity and stability, along with an updated anti-slip material to improve the grip on your pillion seat, and a Molle attachment made of Hypalon on the front so you can attach accessory bags if you want.
They also feature a solid carrying handle, along with the zippered outside pocket so you can store items you might need to access quickly.
A set of SW-Motech Pro Blaze Panniers will cost you around £317.96 including two bags, model-specific support arms, two waterproof inner bags, paint protection film, all fitting materials and an instruction manual. And two versions are available, with the Pro Blaze H versions for bikes with high exhausts.
