It’s hard to believe the oddly-named Beverly scooters have been produced by Piaggio since 2001. But they’ve continued to be popular sellers, becoming one of the highest sellers in Italy, and the new 2021 Piaggio Beverly and Beverly S scooters will provide some more powerful options while meeting the new Euro 5 regulations.
They’ve also had a redesign to offer a sportier look at the front and more muscular side view with LED headlights and indicators. The rear also gets a new profile with a new motorcycle-style license plate holder. And new wheel rims offer a seven split-spoke design.
The standard 2021 Piaggio Beverly gets a new 300cc hpe (High Performance Engine) four-stroke four-valve single cylinder engine with liquid cooling and electronic injection. And the result is a 23% increase in power!
That substantial increase means you get 25.8hp at 8,000rpm. And you also get 15% more torque, with 26Nm at 6,250rpm. To handle that power, you get a double cradle frame with steel budings and sheet metal, new Showa 35 diameter front forks, and Show dual action shock absorbers at the rear.
You also get a 16″ lightweight alloy wheel at the front and a 14″ at the rear, and technology including a keyless system for ignition, opening the seat and fual cap, and positioning the steering lock, plus a 5.5″ LCD instrument panel.
The 2021 Piaggio Beverly comes in a range of colours, including Bianco Luna, Blu Oxigen and Grigio Cloud, with a dark drown seat and light grey wheel rims.
But if you want a bigger, sportier scooter, there’s also the 2021 Piaggio Beverly S.
The larger scooter gets a capacity increase, replacing the current 350cc model and producing 35.4hp at 7,500rpm and 37.7 Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.
The Beverly S also gets wider tyres to give better stability, the Piaggio Mia Bluetooth connectivity system as standard, and the combination of a black seat and dark gret wheel rims with the choice of Argento Cometa, Neo Tempsta and the Arancio Sunset colours.
