You might want to exchange your motorcycle kit if you own the following items, as BMW recall the Club leather jacket and DownTown gloves in Europe.
The decision was made after a random test by the Rhine-Ruhr-Wupper Vetinary Inspection Office, which allegedly detected chromium VI above the legally standardised limit, which can cause allergic reactions in some people.

Despite the fact BMW regularly tests its clothing and hasn’t detected any abnormalities, they’ve made the decision that affected items can be exchanged for an equivalent BMW Motorrad product, irrespective of age.
The specific products are the BMW Motorrad Club Leather Men’s Jacket size M, part number 76129899222, and the DownTown glove, part number 76218560843 to 76218560849.

Incidentally, chromium VI can be found in nature, but is generally associated with manufacturing processes, including leather tanning and stainless steel cookware. And symptoms from related health issues generally involve breathing and respiratory problems.
