We’ve covered plenty of LS2 motorcycle helmets over the years. But despite the company name, the new LS2 Nevada textile jacket and trousers are just two examples from a reasonable range of motorcycle clothing. So presumably we’ll just be calling them LS2 in future?
The Nevada jacket and trousers are aimed at motorcyclists touring or commuting in all weathers. So the jacket has a textile outer shell, a removable waterproof and breathable membrane, and a removable thermal liner.
Included with the jacket are CE-approved protectors at the shoulders and elbows. One handy feature is the LS2 variable system, which means you can choose from two positions for the elbow protection. That’s handy considering some of us have shorter, or longer, arms and find protectors can end up in an uncomfortable position without any way to adjust them.
There’s also a pocket ready to accept an optional back protector, for added safety.
There’s also the LS2 Innovent system, which means ventilation at the front, back and on the sleeves, which will help if you’re riding in warmer weather.
The other important feature for touring and commuting is plenty of pocket space for all the stuff you’re carrying and need to access. So the LS2 Nevada textile jacket has two waterproof pockets on the sides, two hand-warming pockets, a chest pocket, a large back pocket, and one internal pocket as well.
That should be plenty, considering how many times we’ve just repeated the word pocket.
The other half of the new LS2 Nevada textile jacket and trousers will give similar comfort and protection for your legs. The matching Nevada trousers get the same removable membrane, winter lining, and ventilation system.
The trousers also have removable hip and knee protectors as standard. And for those with longer or shorter legs, there are three pockets for your knee armour to get it in the most comfortable place. Plus two zipped side pockets to carry even more stuff.
Along with the elastic fabric and stretch panels at the crotch and knees, the LS2 Nevada textile trousers have an anti-slip seat patch. So, you shouldn’t find yourself sliding around if you have to ride with a wet seat. Which sounds fairly minor until you have to brake hard and end up with your crotch hitting a fuel tank…
LS2 make their clothing in-house, and the LS Nevada Jacket comes in men’s sizes S-5XL, and ladies sizes XS-5XL. It costs £299.99. The trousers are also available in both men’s S-5XL and ladies’ sizes XS-5XL for £179.99. If you also want the optional Viscoflex Level 2 back protector, it’s available for £24.99.
