The new LS2 Gate textile motorcycle jacket should help you navigate changeable summer riding weather. It’s designed to look and feel like a sports jacket, but should be practical and keep the rain out as well.
Which is good, considering how the UK weather can change during the space of one motorcycle trip.

So it’s a fairly short and close fit with pre-curved arms. And you get stretch panels, plus adjustment at the biceps, collars, cuffs and hem to ensure it’s comfortable, and keep any billowing to a minimum.

And the LS2 Gate textile motorcycle jacket also features CE-approved protectors at the shoulders, along with reinforced abrasion resistant material. The elbow protectors can be positioned in two different places to suit longer and shorter arms, and there’s space for an optional back protector.

On the practical side, you get a waterproof and breathable membrane and removable thermal lining inside the outershell. And two side pockets, a ‘Napoleon’ chest pocket and two internal pockets. A Napoleon pocket is a small, zipped pocket on the front, presumably named because the French military chap was always painted with one hand in his waistcoat.

In addition to the YKK front zipper, there’s another to connect to the LS2 range of textile trousers.
The new LS2 Gate jacket comes in men’s sizes S-5XL, costs £159.99. And there’s an optional Viscoflex back protector also available for £24.99.
And a ladies version is also available for the same price, in sizes XS-5XL.

Fortunately, if you’re not a fan of all female motorcycle clothing automatically being given pink stripes, the ladies jacket is also available in the less gender specific dark grey as well.

So nothing too revolutionary, but a solid addition to the LS2 clothing range at a reasonable price for a summer textile bike jacket which can take you into autumn and the start of winter.
