MotoGP 20 Game Out Now

Keeping yourself entertained during lockdown might be a little easier with the MotoGP 20 game out now. It’s available for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia, so you should be able to find something to play it on.

You can buy it to download for the PC via Steam, the Xbox One via the Microsoft Store, the PS4 via the PlayStation Store, and for the Switch via the Nintendo eShop.

Or if you’re more old school, actual physical copies can be ordered from Game or Amazon.

It’s a good time for the game to come out with so many MotoGP fans and motorcyclists stuck at home. Especially with a more in-depth career mode that allows you to create and manage an entirely new team along with testing and bike development throughout the season.

So, you can choose to start off in the Moto3 championship, work your way through Moto2 and eventually make it into MotoGP. Or jump straight into the top flight of motorcycler riding as part of the 2020 season, or against other players online.

And your career won’t just reflect your performance on track. You’ll be able to choose your staff including personal managers, engineers and more. And if you create a new team, then you can customise how riders and bikes look with graphic editors for your bike livery and kit.

Winter and mid-season testes are included, as you pick how to improve different aspects of your bike by allocating your R&D team to specific areas including aerodynamics, electronics, engine power and fuel consumpion.

And you’ll need those improvements to help you to win. The developers have tried to make everything more strategic and realistic. Which means you get to manage your fuel during races, deal with asymmetrical tire wear, and handle any aerodynamic damage to your winglets if you suffer any damage.

Another feature which returns from previous game is a historical mode. You get randomly generated full races to win, which reward you by unlocking iconic bikes and riders from MotoGP history to use in the game.

You can also purchase the MotoGP 20 Historic Pack which includes four legendary riders, and their bikes. So by paying £3.99, you’ll get:

• Kevin Schwantz and the Suzuki RGV500 XR84 of 1995
• Norifumi Abe and the Yamaha YZF500 of 1997
• Marco Melandri and the Yamaha M1 of 2004 in the Estoril Special Livery
• Colin Edwards and the Yamaha M1 of 2007

If you’re in the U.S, the Nintendo Switch edition is out slightly later, on May 5th. And due to the current global pandemic, some content is being updated throughout the Summer.

So at the start of May, the full 2020 season update will become available, followed by Moto2 and Moto3 at the end of the month, and the addition of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

And in June, MotoE will be added to the game. But apparently the developers, Milestone, will also be adding brand new features and more content for the Managerial Career side of things as the year progresses.

So if you’re stuck in lockdown, it could be a good way to keep yourself going. And you can also watch the MotoGP Virtual GP Series, or the MotoGP eSports World Championship for inspiration from both the real riders and pro sim racers.
