They were chosen as previous winners of national Battle of the Kings contests around the world, and challenged to create custom Harleys with an unlimited budget for their work.

Victory went to the Apex Predator, with the runner-up spot taken by Harley-Davidson Athena from Greece, with their Roadster-based Gryps.

The Apex Predator:

The winning Apex Pedator was based on a 2020 Harley-Davidson Sportster XR1200. It became a retro-futuristic mix of a flat tracker and streetfighter, with custom bodywork.

Also created bespoke for the bike was a hand-crafted 2-1-2 underseat exhausts, which sits under the handmade vented tail unit. Also built by the team were the custom hand and foot controls, and the Alcantara seat unit.

Other parts used include the wave brake disc rotors and upside down Showa big piston forks for the front end, along with front fork covers. And the mix of power-coated parts with Sterling Green paintwork. The headlight is an LED Daymaker from the Harley-Davidson Breakout, and it also boasts a full-colour TFT Bluetooth instrument panel.

So it’s a worthy winner, thanks to the work of Oscar Peralta, Agustin Anguino, Luis Fernando Pera, Rodrigo Perez, Eduarado Trejo and Yeyo.

The Other King of Kings 2020 Bikes:

The runner-up machine Gryps was created by Harley-Davidson Athena inspired by the mytical creature of the same name (know as a Griffin elsewhere, which is a combination of an eagle and a lion).

The basic proportions of the donor Roadster were kept, along with the iconic petrol tank. But the back was raised up, the front lowered, and then came a mix of custom building and aftermarket parts.
