We’d all like to have the budget for a top specification race replica helmet, but that isn’t always an option. So it’s good to see how more cost-effective choices like the new LS2 Storm FF800 helmet continue to offer better performance for less money. Especially compared to lower-priced motorcycle helmets from even 10 or 20 years ago.

The Storm is constructed from the LS2 Kinetic Polymer Allow (KPA) which is a special belend of plycarbonate, themoplasters and additional materials to ensure it’s ECE 22.05 and DOT legal for European and American road use.
With sizes from XS-3XL, there are two outer shells produced for the Storm, so you don’t end up looking like an alien with an oversized head, or cramming your skull into something which is far too tight.

You get two adjustable vents at the top and chin on the front of the helmet, and an exhaust port at the back, with channels flowing the air through the inside of the helmet.
Combined with a quick-release visor which comes with a Pinlock anti-fog sheild, and a drop down sun visor, you should be able to use the LS2 Storm FF800 helmet in all weather and seasons.

And you also get a hypoallergenic inner liner, which is removable and washable, plus a chin curtain to reduce noise and wind inside your lid. Fastening is via a steel quick release buckle.
A pretty decent specification list, considering the LS2 Storm FF800 helmet comes in sizes XS-XXL in four solid colours (White, Black, Nardo Grey or Matt Black) for just £119.99.
The ‘Jeans’ titanium solid colour, and a choice of eight designs (the Racer, Nerve, Faster or Classy in different colours), all come in at £129.99.
You can buy LS2 helmets from a range of stockists including GhostBikes and Revzilla. And if you’re looking to buy a new helmet, why not check out the latest ranges with our motorcycle helmets section?
