Generally short length motorcycle boots are designed for summer weather and hot temperatures. But with a waterproof lining, could you use the Duchinni Europa boots for Winter commuting or touring?
The Europa feature a full grain leather and textile upper, and are EN13634 certified, which is the CE standard for motorcycle boots. They also feature heel cups and gear-lever zone reinforcement. Plus importantly the waterproof and breathable lining. So your feet should stay dry, without getting sweaty.
But more important is the twin zipper closure on either side. The idea is that the boot opens like a clam shell to make it easy to get them on and off. That’s handy if you’re trying to disrobe from your wet weather clobber after getting to work. Or spending a day touring during winter weather.
Obviously it might depend on the length of your trousers to make sure you aren’t getting rain or even snow in the top of your footwear.
The Duchinni Europa boots also have an oil-resistant non-slip rubber sole, so you hopefully won’t end up sliding around petrol station forecourts like a hippo on ice. And the calf and ankle have flex panels to help you stay comfortable and able to move.
