Ducati Performance TriOptions Cup Confirmed To 2021

Ducati Performance TriOptions Cup Confirmed To 2021

September 16, 2019 By DanThornton Leave a Comment

Fans of close one-make riding will be happy with the Ducati Performance TriOptions Cup confirmed to 2021 as a British Superbike support series.

Next year will mark the 10th anniverary of the Ducati Cup, which was originally the 848 Challenge club championship. The relatively affordable series has gone through the Ducati 848 Evo, the 899 and now the current 959 Panigale Superbike, and has retained riders throughout the entire time, for example Mark Cheetham and Peter Hasler.

It’s also provided a route to other championships for riders including Joe Collier, who was Ducati Cup Champion in 2017 before joining the National 1000 Superstock for the following season. He’s since been joined by fellow former Ducati Cup riders Lewis Rollo and Levi Day, who are both currently in the top 10 of the 2019 series.

In addition to a race support package, Ducati Cup ambassador Steve Plater is also at every round to both give advice and act as a rider representative.

Tim Maccabee, Managing Director, Ducati UK:
“We are very proud of the success of the Ducati Performance TriOptions Cup which is very much down to the commitment and enthusiasm of the many riders who have joined the grid over the years. Also, a major factor has been the professionalism of MSVR in ensuring that the Ducati Cup continues to thrive. I’m looking forward to the 2020 season and beyond with the series providing a high standard of racing within the premier National championship, British Superbikes.”

Steve Plater, Ducati Performance TriOptions Cup ambassador: “Great news, looking forward to continued racing success at all levels with the Ducati family.
Ducati TriOptions Cup continues to produce close racing helping our riders show their talent in front of top British teams and television.”

Stuart Higgs, Series/Race Director of British Superbike Championship:
“The Ducati Cup, across the various models has been an important part of the BSB race weekend action since 2011 ensuring full grids and competitive racing.”

I’m delighted to confirm the continuation of our partnership with Ducati UK to secure their race series on the BSB program for at least the next two seasons, recognising that 2020 will be the 10th anniversary of the association.”
