There’s a new colour scheme on offer for next year, as the Ducati Monster 1200 S goes Black on Black for 2020.
You’ll still be able to get the 147hp, Testastretta-powered naked bike in traditional Ducati Red. But the new option mixes gloss black and matt black parts for something a bit darker. And the colour is the only change revealed for the new model year.
Obviously it’s not the first time you’ve been able to buy a subdued Ducati Monster since the bike first appeared back in 1993 and help revitalise the Italian brand. And this latest version does still include a flash of red on the wheel rims to liven things up.
The 2020 Ducati Monster 1200 S comes with all the modern technology you expect, including the Ride by Wire system and an ‘intertial platform’ to sort the ABS cornering, Traction Control and Wheelie Control systems. Which is useful when you’re producing 91 lb-ft of torque.
Plus the S version supports a sportier riding style with fully-adjustable 48mm Ohlins front forks, and a matching Ohlins rear shock. Then there are two 330mm front Brembo discs and Brembo M50 monoblock calipers, a carbon fibre front mudguard, and a quickshifter as standard.
You get three riding modes (Sport, Touring and Urban). And a front headlight with Daytime Running Light. The seat height is an adjustable 795-820mm, which is important for those of us with a shorter inside leg.
The 2020 Ducati Monster 1200 S in Black on Black will cost you £14,895, and should be in Ducati dealers from the end of September 2019.
