The LS2 Vector is a standard full-face motorcycle helmet with a proprietary fibreglass composite shell or carbon fibre. A lighter model was released in 2018 alongside carbon shell model. But it’s cosmetic changes this year, as the LS2 Vector Helmet gets new designs for 2019.
There are four graphic options added to the range, giving 11 choices in total. All of them retail at £159 for solid colours, or £169 for the more complicated options. And in sizes XXS-3XL, with three external shell sizes to get a better fit.
The LS2 Vector Kripton design comes in either Matt Black Titanium or Matt Blue with High Visibility Yellow. Either way, it’s hard not to think it’s a strange spelling to avoid copyright proceedings by Superman. But it looks alright.
You’ll notice the in-built sun visor, but it’s harder to see that the lining is hypoallergenic and removable. Or the Emergency Release System cheek pads.
Also new for 2019 is the Matt Black Titanium Hunter design, which joins an existing version in orange and black. It’s handy if you like your helmet to look like it might have already been down the road – might stop someone pinching it or hide wear and tear.
And finally for 2019 is the new LS2 Vector Cosmos design, influenced by space. Or just swirly colours and some straight lines.
Presumably the straight lines are to refer to the defition of the Cosmos as seeing the universe as a well-ordered whole. Although it’s hard to believe in order when you’re riding among cars pulling out and changing lanes at random.
So four new graphics, which may appeal to you. And it certainly gives you a lot of choices for how you look with a helmet cost £169.
And you’ll be patriotic, as LS2 riders currently including John McPhee in Moto3, along with Xavi Cardelus, Kazuki Masaki and Randy DePuniet.
