Adventure bikes are pretty much the largest-selling motorcycles on the planet above 125cc. So it makes sense that Watsonian sidecars not fit Suzuki V-Strom 650s. After all, there should be plenty of the Japanese middleweight sport tourer with adventure styling to potentially fit with an outfit.
I’ve actually seen two motorcycle outfits recently which matched a BMW R1200GS with a sidecar, so the mix of design and riding styles seems to suit some people. Although you probably won’t want to go far off-road with the sidecar attached.
The Watsonian sidecar fitting kit for the Suzuki V-Strom 650 will work on all models since the bike was launched in 2004. A subframe fits below the twin-spar aluminium frame of the motorcycle, and provides mounting points for the four sidecar attachment arms.
Despite the fact I’ve previously crashed a V-Strom, I can understand why they’re popular as an all-round motorcycle. And the relaxed V-twin should be usable with the added weight of a sidecar outfit. It might also stop people like me falling off them after rear-ending cars.
