Two New Designs for the 2019 Peugeot Speedfight

Two New Designs for the 2019 Peugeot Speedfight

Whether you’re a 16-year-old getting two-wheeled freedom for the first time, or a middle-aged commuter avoiding public transport, looks are important. And two new designs for the 2019 Peugeot Speedfight offer new 50cc and 125cc options.

Both of the new colour schemes are placed on the standard Peugeot 4th generation scooters, which come with an unlimited mileage 24-month warranty.

2019 Peugeot Speedfight Total Sport 50

Starting off with the smaller capacity scooter, the new Total Sport 50 is inspired by the French firm’s Peugeot 2008 DKR Dakar rally car. Which means matt black bodywork, Total racing livery, and highlighted red inserts in the air intakes.

Teenagers will probably also notice the rear spoiler, passeneger seat cowl and aluminium footplates. Although they might not spot the red seat stitching and micro lamp LED indicators. Not while they’re immediately pinning the throttle wide open to visit the nearest supermarket car park.

At least young riders should make it back from showing off to their friends. There shouldn’t be an excuses on the handling with 32mm USD front forks and the remote reservoir rear shock absorber. Or from the 13-inch alloy wheels and low profile tyres to deliver sharper handling.

And if they’re running late, you should get a text. The 2019 Peugeot Speedfight Total Sport 50 features both USB and 12V sockets on the dashboard, plus a RAm X-Grip smartphone holder. Plus there’s an on-board digital multifunction computer for the dash display.

The 2019 Peugeot Speedfight Total Sport 50 costs £2499 on the road, the same as the existing 50cc models.

Presumably aimed at older riders, the second of the two new designs for the 2019 Peugeot Speedfight is the 125cc Satin Chocolate. Rather than emulating a racing car, the inspiration for this model appears to have been a bar of Galaxy.

There seems to be a trend for brown cars, and now it’s moving over to two wheels. And it makes more sense for commuters and older scooter riders to have something more subtle. Partly to avoid looking like a teenage hooligan, and hopefully escaping attention parked in a railway station car park all day.

As a result, you get the refined matt-finish chocolate body panels and black highlights.

The latest Peugeot Speedfight 125cc liquid-cooled SmartMotion engine is the most powerful version made yet. And you also get the connected Synchro Braking Concept disc brakes, LED front headlights, and front and rear LED signature lighting. Plus a digital dashboard with a backlit LCD display, a USB charging socket, and you can add the X-Grip phone holder as an extra accessory. Not sure why the new 50cc version gets it included and the 125cc model doesn’t – presumably old people will stuff their expensive smartphone in their pocket or under the seat.

The 2019 Peugeot Speedfight 125 Satin Chocolate costs £2699, which is the same as the existing standard Speedfight 125cc models. If you still want to look like a teenage hooligan, the A1 licence compliant 125cc Speedfight R-Cup is still available for £2799.
