Looking for some waterproof kit to slip over your regular riding gear? The new 2019 Weise Vision rainwear promises higher visibility as well as keeping you dry.
The key is the 360-degree reflective coating on the material used for the Weise Vision jacket, trousers and gilet. In normal conditions it looks silver. But when headlights shine on it, the coating shines brightly. So you should stand out in dim or dark conditions.
Both the Weise Vision Jacket and Trousers feature the same waterproof material with taped and weldeded seams. And they also have polyester mesh linings, so you can slip them over your normal motorcycle kit quickly and easier when it’s dark or wet.
And both come in sizes S-5XL, with the Weise Vision Jacket setting you back £49.99, while the Weise Vision Jeans are £39.99.
All seems reasonable enough – waterproof oversuits have been around for a while, and Weise have had some in their range for years. So they should do the job of protecting you from the rain. And if the reflective coating makes you more visible to car drivers struggling to see, then it can’t be a bad thing.
But if you want something that looks more like a typical textile motorcycle jacket, then there’s also the Weise Vision Gilet out for 2019.
Rather than a jacket, the sleeveless gilet will keep your torso dry. Which isn’t hopefully as much of an issue if you have a textile jacket on, but might be handy if you’re in leathers, and just need something to cover up your chest and back.
But it also has the same reflective material. So there’s a good safety benefit to adding it to your kit. And it features a YKK zip, plus an adjustable waist belt, so you can keep it nice and tight to avoid billowing and flapping around.
The Weise Vision Gilet also comes in sizes S-5XL, and will cost you £34.99. Another version is also available in neon yellow, if you prefer the fluorescent look.
