HRH Prince William Visits Triumph Motorcycles

HRH Prince William Visits Triumph Motorcycles

February 22, 2018 By DanThornton Leave a Comment

Time to get the posh tea set out as HRH Prince William visits Triumph motorcycles in Hinckley, Leicestershire. The Duke of Cambridge has been a keen motorcyclists for many years, and has been photographed on a range of bikes. That’s included riding an off-road rally to support UNICEF. Apparently William has cut down on riding due to his children and the fact wife Kate isn’t a fan, but he was still tempted into trying out a new Triumph Tiger 1200 Adventure during his visit.

The trip included Prince William viewing the new £6 million paint shop facility which will start operating in Spring 2018. The Duke of Cambridge also toured the rest of the site, including the recently opened Triumph Factory Visitor Experience.

To mark the visit and the opening of the visitor experience, Prince William unveiled a commemorative fuel tank with a Union Jack design hand-painted on site.

It isn’t the first time Price William has ridden a Triumph. He’s owned a Triumph Daytona 600, and brother Prince Harry picked himself up a Triumph Daytona 675 at one point.

That’s alongside various other makes and models over the years, including off-road riding and the occasional track day. The news that he had put motorcycling ‘on the back burner’ came during a conversation with Jonathan Rea, as the multiple World Superbike champion was receiving an MBE in 2017.
