The new Sena 30K Communication System has one big selling point. You can allow an automatic connection for up to an unlimited number of users over a range of 1.2 miles. So it’ll cope with even the biggest rideouts and gatherings.
The way it works is via a new piece of Mesh Intercom technology. So you can set up a private mode for up to 16 motorcyclists and riders to be able to listen and chat back to you. And then let as many guests as you want to listen. So you could have 16 rideout leaders and marshalls communicating, and everyone else listening to what’s happening. And by using the Sena RideConnected App, you can connect with riders worldwide over an infinite range, as long as they’re connected to a mobile network at the time.
That makes the Sena 30K Communication System pretty useful. Plus if someone does ride out of range, the rest of the group will stay connected, and once the lost motorcyclists comes back into the 1.2 mile radius, they automatically get reconnected. And if they’re using the Sena app, going out of range isn’t an issue.
So that’s pretty impressive. The Sena 30K Communication System features Bluetooth 4.1 so it can connected to up to 3 other Bluetooth devices at the same time as other Mesh Intercom units. And it can be controlled using voice commands, so you can go through all the intercom, phone and music functions without having to fiddle about.
There’s an Audio Multitasking feature which means your GPS or phone calls overlay any music you’re streaming or the built-in FM radio, so you don’t get that annoying cutting in and out as your sounds get interrupted.
The Sena 30K Communication System also has a handy quick charge feature to give you 5 hours of Bluetooth intercom use, or 3 hours Mesh Intercom use, from a 20 minute charge. It’s also water-resistant, compatible with an optional Sena handlebar remote control, and a Sena Utility app for Android and iOS phones will help you set it up with settings and a quick user guide.
