The 17th BMW Motorrad Days 2017 took place in early July in Garmisch-Partenkirchen at the foot of the Hausberg mountain in Bavaria in Germany. The annual celebration saw more than 40,000 visitors come together from more than 20 countries and 6 concerts for the event. The three days from July 7-9, 2017, saw new bikes being revealed, stunts, live music, a beer garden and more. Apparently, 17,000 litres of beer was drunk in just 3 days, compared to 16,000 litres of soft drinks. We’ll let you draw your own conclusions there…
The 17th BMW Motorrad Days 2017 saw the launch of both the BMW Motorrad Spezial range, and the new Connectivity with TFT Display special equipment. You could also check out all the 2018 BMW motorcycle range. And you could pick up plenty of shopping with around 100 exhibitors offering parts, tuning and accessories. As well as advice from the BMW staff.
Before helping to consume 17,000 litres of beer, you could show off your own riding skills in the event arena on a BMW G 310 GS. Which meant challenging Supermoto world champion Bernd Heimer on a special course. Or you could kick back and watch stunt rider Sarah Lezito on her 165hp BMW S 1000 RR and Mattie Griffin on his BMW F 800 R. Or enjoy the sight and sound of the motodrome. It was a special event inside the walled course as 4 riders took to their BMW R25s at the same time for the first time ever.
So, if you’re a BMW fan, 17th BMW Motorrad Days 2017 was the place to be. But if you missed it, then don’t feel too bad. Apparently preparations for next year are already well underway. The 18th BMW Motorrad Days 2018 will take place on July 6-8, 2018. So you can already start booking travel and accommodation to enjoy the next event at Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
