Fancy some textile kit to cope with all types of overland motorcycle trips? The new Weise Dakar Adventure Jacket and Trousers pack a fair bit in for your cash. And as with all Weise kit, they come with a 2-year no-quibble warranty, which is pretty decent of them.
The Weise Dakar Adventure Jacket will cost you £259.99. For that price you get the textile outer, with a waterproof drop liner, 120-gram thermal lining and winter neck guard. All of which can be removed in hotter conditions.
Plus level 2 CE-approved protection at the shoulders and the elbows. The low-profile armour is made from highly-flexible Elastofoam, which means it should be comfortable as well as fairly unobtrusive. And there’s also a CE-approved back protector included.

What about if you want to ride in warmer conditions? Well, there are zippable panels on the chest and back, which can be unfastened and removed. You can then pack them away, exposing large vented areas. Those are combined with long two-way zipped vents from the cuffs to the top of each arm. So that should cool you down a fair bit.
If you’re still a bit hot and bothered, the Weise Dakar Adventure Jacket is read to take a hydration pack in a rear pocket, and has a drinking tube outlet. Or a hole, as you might call it. So you can sip away without having to stop.
That’s not the only pocket in the jacket. You get a mix of internal and external storage, plus a removable large rear map pocket/bum bag.
And then we come to the Weise Dakar Adventure Trousers. They also have a waterproof and breathable layer, and a 120-gram thermal lining. And all of them can be removed as with the jacket.
You get level 2 CE-approved armour at the knees, and pockets for optional hip protectors. The bum is reinforced, and there’s a raised section at the back to stop water seeping in. When it’s not raining or snowing, then you can open the two large zipped thigh vents. And you get two concealed pockets at the waist, plus two cargo pockets.
The Weise Dakar Adventure Jacket is available in sizes S-5XL in Black, or M-5XL in the Black/Stone option, and costs £259.99. The Dakar Adventure Trousers will set you back an additional £199.99.
