In a triumph for Triumph Motorcycles, UK Triumph owners can now buy Triumph insurance. And we’ve written probably the worst headline about it that was possible.
The idea is that the 80,000 current owners and any new buyers can choose from the two Triumph Insurance and Triumph Insurance Plus policies. And you’ll get fully comprehensive insurance at a reasonable price. The standard cover is administered by Biksure, and includes full European cover, £100,000 free legal expenses, owners’ club and limited mileage discounts.
The Plus policy is a bespoke 5 star Defaqto Aviva scheme, and also has £1,000 helmet and leathers cover, a new bike replacement if you write yours off within six months of buing it, and unlimited accessores cover.
The launch of Triumph insurance covers customers in the UK, Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey.
It’s not unusual for a motorcycle manufacturer to package up specific insurance via an existing company. But it’s worth knowing if you’re looking to buy a new policy as it’s always worth getting a quote from as many places as possible. And you’ll feel slightly better if you do manage to destory a new motorcycle within the first six months.
