The Watsonian Mule Tradesman Box is a really good idea. Motorcycles are still practical work transport around the world. But going beyond commuting is a problem if you need luggage space. This could be the perfect way to persuade artisan hipsters to transport their tools by bike. Which means less white vans to dodge. And how much cooler is it to rock up with your name on the side of a custom bike and sidecar toolbox outfit?
Obviously it’s also useful it you’re using it to go camping, or need to pack a particularly big picnic. The Watsonian Mule Tradesman Box is 1370mm by 480mm and 480mm, which gives it around 300 litres of storage. And it’s made from galvanised steel which is then powder coated, with an integrated dual locking mechanism to keep everything safe and secure.
There’s a bit more involved than making a big steel box. Watsonian had to develop a new box section with Flexitor suspension and a 10″ steel wheel to stop your stuff being shaken to bits. And the Watsonian Sidecars Mule Tradesmans Box also comes with a Classic GRP mudguard, lights, indicators and a wiring loom to connect to the 12V system of your motorcycle.
There’s also the handy spare wheel on the back of the box in case you run flat at any point.
The Watsonian Sidecars Mule Tradesman Box costs £2,995 including VAT. A factory fitting service is available, and Watsonian’s UK factory can also offer a range of useful accessories including luggage racks, spotlights and Jerry cans. So you can really trick it out as much as you like.
