At 5 foot 8 or 9 depending on whether I’m standing on tiptoes, I’ve never felt the need for a taller screen. Even a minimoto provides enough protection for me. But I have encountered buffeting from the way the airflow moves around behind a fairing. So it you want more wind and rain protection, or to change the airflow, you might want to check out the Skidmarx Touring Screens for the new Triumph Tiger Explorer XR and XC.
Both screens are made from 4mm cast acrylic and use the original fittings to replace the standard Triumph screen. But they’re also both 64cm tall to shield you from more of the wind and rain. You can pick from the standard width, or go for a larger 6cm wider version if you like (3cm on each side), and it won’t cost you a penny more.
Both of the Skidmarx Touring Screens for the Triumph Explorer XR and XC models can come in clear, light or dark grey tints, and will cost you £64.95. Also available is a straight replacement for the standard screen if you fancy replacing it with something featuring a light or dark tint for £59.95. And apparently a hugger is also being developed for the Triumph. No word on price or colours yet.
