Want to strike fear into the hearts of every criminal and lawbreaker? To become the real world equivalent of Judge Dredd riding his Lawmaster? And to still be able to get good fuel economy? Then you need the Yamaha Tricity 125 Police Equipment Kit.
Because inspires respect for the law more than a lightweight and compact three-wheeled scooter. Yamaha claims that the two large front wheels are designed ‘for confident driving on various road conditions, even over slippery tram rails’. Perfect for those who can’t ride a motorcycle in the eight UK locations that actually have a tram system.
The Yamaha Tricity comes with a fuel-injected four-stroke 125cc engine, and a three-disc Unified Braking System. They claim that the quick, responsive motor will help stay ahead of traffic, but given that it’s a 125cc scooter with a top speed around 60mph, it’ll need to be law-abiding urban traffic.
To be fair, the Tricity is narrower than some motorcycles, despite the additional front wheel. And the large double seat will accommodate most crime-fighting duos.
Yamaha Tricity 125 Police Equipment Kit special items include the pair of front blue lights and 5-tone sirens, along with LED light signaling (with rotating or flashing options), an electronic control unit, control board, brackets for relays and fuses and neodymium loudspeakers.
And your LED light at the rear is mounted on a handy 39 litre top case, which is lockable. Just in case someone isn’t intimidated into being a law abiding citizen by your Yamaha.
Before you sign off on equipping your whole police force, there are two things to note. Unlike the larger 3-wheeled scooters from Piaggio and Peugeot, the narrow little Yamaha Tricity actually counts as a scooter rather than a car, so you’ll need to have a motorcycle license to ride it legally.
And custom-made police stickers aren’t included in the standard Yamaha Tricity 125 Police Equipment Kit, so you need to request them from Yamaha.
