Italian scooter firm Vespa started producing scooters in 1946 after Piaggio switched from producing fighter planes to cheap transport. Since the first enclosed MP5 Paperino and the MP6 which led to the company name, more than 150 different models, version and variations have been produced, and over 18 million have been sold. So some new products have been released to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Vespa.
The Vespa Anniversary Collection mainly includes T-shirts, key rings and other casual purchases, but it does have a Vespa 70th Anniversary Helmet. It’s an open-face ABS model, which is ECE 22.05 approved as you’d expect.
It comes with a long external visor and sliding internal visor, plus the breathable inner liner can be removed and washed. In addition to the chromed rim, it comes in light blue and grey to match 70th Anniversary scooter colours, and costs £129.99 in sizes XS-XL.
The other interesting products are the 32 and 42-litre Vespa Anniversary Top Boxes. If you have an Anniversary Vespa Primavera or PX, then the 32-litre will fit and match your bike, with enough space for a flip-front helmet. You’ll need to buy a mounting rack and backrest pad separately in addition to the £112.49 top box.
Or for the Vespa Anniversary GTS, there’s the larger version. You’ll still need to pay extra for the mounting rack and backrest pad, but you get enough space for either one full-face helmet or two open-face lids. And it costs £152.49.
If you just fancy annoying Lambretta owners or need to fill your life with Vespa gear, then there are other products available. The Vespa 70th Anniversary T-Shirt is available in sizes S-XXL and costs £18.32.
Other options are the 70th Anniversary Basbeball Cap for £14.99 with one-size-fits-all white and grey, a ceramic 70th Anniversary Ceramic Mug for £9.99 and the excitement of a £9.99 70th Anniversary eco leather key ring.
It’s good timing, seeing as the iconic British mod movie Quadrophenia is apparently being filmed in summer 2016, including original cast members like Phil Daniels and Toyah Wilcox

HI, Do you know where I can find this helmet? I’ve just bought a 2017 Primavera. Thanks!
Also, the top box. THANKS!
Unfortunately as the helmet was a limited edition for the 70th Anniversary, it’s unlikely to be in stock anywhere, but there is a special Primavera range out at the moment which you can find at: https://store.vespa.com/gb_en/collections/50-vespa-primavera.html . Although it is still hidden away in the site, but only available in L and XL sizes apparently https://store.vespa.com/gb_en/helmets/vespa-vj/helmet-vj-vespa-70-azzurro433-xs.html
ScooterCrazy have the top box still listed: https://www.scootercrazy.com/acatalog/vespa-gts-super-top-box.html as do Ron Daley scooters: https://www.rondaleyscooters.co.uk/scooters/vespa-gts-super-top-case.html
Other than that it’s worth finding your local Vespa dealer and seeing if they have any contacts or sources for any unsold examples…
