Originally released in 2009, the Knox Handroid Gloves might have the best, or possibly worst, name in all of motorcycle clothing. Even including some of the odd choices by French and Italian brands. But on the plus size, the third version of the motorcycle hand protection has even more improvements for 2016.
The Knox Handroids are full CE certified to the latest EN13594 standard, which involves 15 tests including seam strength, cut resistance, abrasion and impact testing. To help them be even safer, box seams replace the pinch seams on the fingers and joins are now set between the fingers, plus there’s an extra outside seam on the index fingers.
The Knox sponsored racers around the world return their crashed gloves for inspection, which has led to extra leather reinforcement now appearing over the BOA Closure System elastic straps. And the patented Scaphoid Protection System on the palm has additional sliders on all the sides, plus an additional inner cuff slider.
For comfort you still get the unique Exo-skeletal flexible finger spines from previous Knox Handroid models, and they are linked to a gel-lined Metapod for the knuckles and back of the hand. New accordion stretch panels are on the fingers and every size has been revised for a precision fit.
The Knox Handroid gloves are made from race-quality Japanese analine cowhide and Australian kangaroo leather, with a parented Low-Profile BOA Closure system to allow you to quickly put the gloves on and off with micro-adjustable fitting. They cost £169.99 and are available in sizes XS-XXL in Black, White, Red or Black/White.
