Totally not cliched Kawasaki U.S Clothing and Merch Video

Totally not cliched Kawasaki U.S Clothing and Merch Video

November 22, 2015 By DanThornton 3 Comments

We’re generally nice and enthusiastic people at Rescogs. Anything involving two wheels and an engine (or an electric motor) is seen as good until proven otherwise. And it may be that the following 2016 Kawasaki Clothing and Merchandise video convinces lots of people to buy motorcycles and branded clothing which enables the Japanese bike and bridge builder to convert everyone to two wheels, and the world becomes a wonderful place.

But the combination of sunshine, airfields and a pretty lady in miniscule denim shorts has landed in November, which in the UK, and even the northern parts of the U.S, means cold, wet, unheated garages, and occasionally snow. And disused airfields were either turned into racing circuits in 1946 for new home buyers to complain about when they move next door, the Top Gear test track, or have been block-booked by every motorcycle magazine and publication in the UK (Bruntinthorpe).

So that’s the video. Any U.S bikers living somewhere that isn’t currently a minefield of ice, rain-soaked diesel spills, and gritting trucks want to confirm or deny that it’s just how their life is? Or female motorcyclists ride pillion and often wander around in denim shorts?

Update: In watching the video again whilst writing about it, I only just spotted the end credits – Kawasaki Motors Europe N.V. *sigh*

seems like it isn’t popular with the YouTuber set either.
    I blame the Soviet Plane.
Okay, the old Antonov (looks like and AN6 that used to be around here in Texas) is one of the cool things in it other than the lady who likely doesn’t ride (not my style of bike they had in there).
Instead of a Soviet, they should have scrounged an old Kawi built plane.

I can kind of see the disused airfield link (Steve McQueen being once example of kicking back with vintage bikes, cars and planes), but I’m not sure using an old Japanese or American plan would have solved the issue 馃槈

It just comes across like something you’d have seen 20 years ago. More women ride bikes than ever before, and there’s a huge passion for vintage and classic style etc, and yet here it’s models posing. Compare that to a video of people hooning about an airfield in Kawasaki gear or people actually traveling somewhere on a Kawasaki cruiser for example…

I’d like to have seen that lady walk down the stairs in her tiny shorts, walk over and point out he’d put the air filter back on incorrectly, or to get on the bike and make the guy ride pillion 馃檪

apparently WP will tell me you replied, but not let me reply in the drop-down, so here it is again (~_^):

If it was an attempt at nostalgia, it failed, and it seemed cheesy otherwise.
They should have hired Chesca Miles and had her do the riding but she prefers Hondas.
At least it didn’t look like they fell over as soon as the camera faded to black.

A riding group I hang with (ST-Owners) has many women. one of the locals recently stopped after her hubby was rear-ended and she had had a few close calls herself. Another guy’s wife just started riding. they moved the bars back, lowered the suspension, and cut the seat on a 1200 Bandit as she is maybe 5 foot tall, but she handled an unscheduled ride on gravel, no problem.
