Peugeot Django Scooters – 50’s style and now 50cc

Peugeot Django Scooters – 50’s style and now 50cc

June 4, 2015 By DanThornton Leave a Comment

Having launched the Peugeot Django 150cc scooter at the start of the year for those on an A2 motorcycle licence, the range has now expanded to include the 50cc Sport and Evasion models. That means the scooters can be ridden on an AM licence for those 16 and over, and without any need for a test if you got your car licence before February 1st, 2001.

The 50cc scooters have a two-stroke engine which meets modern emissions laws and expectations for fuel economy. They also share LED indicators and rear lights, an LCD trip computer in the traditional analogue speedo, and a 12 volt power supply tucked into the glove box, plus helmet-sized underseat storage. And they both cost £2399 on the road with a two-year unlimited mileage parts and labour warranty.

The Evasion 50 is aimed at retro fans with two-tone paint, white wheel rims and whitewall tyres. It also comes with a fly screen and chrome front luggage rack for a bit of practicality.

The Sport 50 looks the cooler of the pair, and comes with a colour-matched pillion seat cover, alloy pillion footrests and a chrome hand-grip. It’s available in French Blue and Silver Satin. And is probably about as racy as you can expect for a retro scooter.

The 50cc models join the 150cc mentioned above, and the Django 125cc, meaning that there’s a retro French scooter for every member of the family, should you desire such a thing. Just please don’t dress up like a cross between Steve McQueen and A Clockwork Orange to ride them.
